Ronda
The cliff-hanging town
Ronda, Rilke's 'dreamed city', was build on the edge of a 120 metres deep, 70 metres wide cliff (about 395 × 230 ft). The streets evoke the Romantic notions of bandoleros and bullfighting, which influenced many a famous traveller. Ronda and its mountain range will take you back to the Middle Ages, Al Andalus or Ancient Rome—it will even display before your eyes some of the greatest exponents of cave art at sites such as the Pileta cave or the Chopo dolmen.
